A new trust fund titled “Prof. Dr. Md. Muklesur Rahman Trust Fund” has been established at the Department of Mathematics of Dhaka University (DU).  Retired Professor of DU Mathematics Department Dr. Md. Muklesur Rahman handed over a cheque for Tk. 40 lac to the Treasurer of DU Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed today November 16, 2022 at the VC’s Lounge of the university to set up this trust fund.

Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Md. Abdus Samad, Chairman of the Department of Mathematics Prof. Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, Director of the Institute of Education and Research Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Halim, Acting Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker and some other family members of donor were present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this Trust Fund, every year one meritorious student of the Department of Mathematics of DU who will secure the highest CGPA in BS Honors Final Examination will be awarded gold medal. Besides, some students of the department will be given scholarship.
