Bangladesh Robot Olympiad: Department of Robotics and Mechatronics & BdRO co-organized Bangladesh Robot Olympiad in 2018, 2019, 2021.
- Dr. Lafifa Jamal, chairperson of the department visited the Robotics and Mechatronics Center and various laboratories in IIT Kanpur on an invitation from the Indian High Commission, Dhaka in May 2017. Following the visit and a discussion on possible collaborations, later in August 2017, a MoU was signed between the University of Dhaka and the IIT Kanpur.
- In December 2018, theDepartment of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering signed a MoU with the Department of Mechatronics Engineering of Kyunsung University in South Korea. The students of RMEDU are eligible for funded MSc program at Kyungsung University.
- Basic Microcontroller, Arduino and Line Follower Robot: The department organized a workshop on basic Microcontroller, Arduino and Line Follower Robot for the students of University of Dhaka on 22 July 2017. About sixty students from the Engineering faculty participated in this workshop and got training on microcontroller operations, Arduino coding and line follower robot algorithm.
- Poster Presentation: The department organized a workshop on poster presentation for the students of University of Dhaka on 19 August 2017. Thirty participants from the Engineering faculty attended the session and got training on poster presentation.
- On 27 July 2017, the department organized a seminar on “Robotics: An Interdisciplinary Gateway towards Democratization of Engineering Knowledge” at the KaziMotahar Hossain Bhaban. The keynote speaker was Dr. Mahmud Hasan, Visiting Professor, University of Malaysia, Pahang.
- On 7 February 2018, the department organized a seminar on “Artificial Intelligence” at the virtual class room of Centre for Advanced Research in Arts and Social Sciences (CARASS). The keynote speaker was Mr. Shariar Hossain, Researcher, Tokyo University, Japan.
- To inspire and motivate the students to explore the exciting world of Automation, Mechatronics and Robotics, the department organized a robotics carnival for the students of University of Dhaka on 14 October 2017. Sixty participants from different departments of the university took part in different segments, i.e. idea presentation, project showcasing and line follower racing, of the carnival.

- An International seminar on ”Mechatronics and Industry 4.0: Practice Oriented Education and Training for Employment” was organized on 4th August 2019
- The National Episode of Bangladesh Robot Olympiad 2019 was organised on 6-7 September 2019 to select the Bangladeshi team for participation in 21st International Robot Olympiad, Chiang Mai, Thailand.

- Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Organized 4th Bangladesh Robot Olympiad on online platform. The program was Inaugurated on 16th September, 2021 and Concluded on 27th September, 2021.
