It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Dhaka.
Since its establishment, our department has been committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. Applied Mathematics serves as a bridge between mathematical theory and real-world applications, providing powerful tools to address challenges in science, engineering, finance, industry, medicine, data science, and emerging technologies. Our mission is to cultivate analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that empower our students to contribute meaningfully to society.
Our academic programs are carefully designed to provide a strong mathematical foundation while embracing modern interdisciplinary fields such as scientific computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mathematical finance, operations research, optimization, statistics, and data analytics.
