The Department of Fisheries of the university of Dhaka started its journey with the mission and vision to produce learned and skilled graduates to serve the nation for a sustainable fisheries. Since 1998, the department is trying to achieve its mision and vision and now a number of graduates are working in Government, NGO and private fisheries sectors. As the 10th Chairman of this department, I have already taken several initiatives to take this department at the apex of its success and as the part of these initiaves several MOU with different Government, NGO and private sectors in fisheries are on the way which will ensure industry-acdemia collaboration and finally job placement of the skilled graduates which would ultimately benefits the fisheries sector of our beloved Bangladesh.
