Dear friends, welcome to the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka! Established in 2016, the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka is a cooperative project between Yunnan University and Dhaka University. It was unveiled by H.E Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China and H.E Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on October 14, 2016. This is indeed a great honor and a huge responsibility for the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka.
Over the past six years, we have achieved progress in providing thousands of Bangladeshi students with the opportunity to learn Chinese and learn about China. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been persisting in online Chinese teaching and cultural activities.
China and Bangladesh are good neighbors. The friendly cooperative relations between the two countries have developed rapidly and achieved fruitful results. We are pleased to see that more and more Bangladeshis are learning Chinese. We believe that language learning and cultural exchanges play a fundamental role in promoting mutual understanding between the Chinese and Bangladeshi people and promoting the long-term and healthy development of bilateral relations.
The Confucius Institute is a window via which people all over the world study Chinese and learn about Chinese culture, a Sino-foreign cultural exchange platform, as well as a bridge of friendship and cooperation between China and the world.
The Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka will continue to play a good role as a window and bridge, become a friend around you, and promote the in-depth development of people-to-people exchanges between China and Bangladesh.
