Research Interest

Subject	Description	Research Interest (Goal, Target Indicator)
Climate change and environmental issues in fisheries and aquaculture	Climate change and other environmental issues are of prime concern in natural and human systems. Discovering the specific problems and developing solutions to these issues in fisheries and aquaculture sector from the key research interest.
Transdisciplinary mixed-method research	This research interest prioritizes working with researchers from different disciplines to generate new conceptual, methodological and theoritical innovations. It also combines quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
Social issues in fisheries and aquaculture	Fisheries and aquaculture sector traditionally focuses on production, business, biology and supply of human nutrition. However, people who are sacrificing their whole life to produce/catch fish are often neglected and remain poor and vulnerable over generations in developing countries. For sustainable management and development of this sector, human and social dimentions need to be focused more. A "Fishers First Policy" needs to be implemented.
Fisheries Management and governance	Acheiving sustainability and wellbeings is the prime goal of fisheries sector. "Good governance" and sustainable management are the key enablers to achieve this goal. A bottom-up, pro-poor, gender sensitive, equitable and prosperous governance system should especially be emphasized.
