Z M Parvez Sazzad received his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. degrees from the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics, University of Dhaka respectively in 1993 and 1994. He secured the 2nd position in Bachelor and the 1st position in Masters in his class. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Intellectual Information Systems Engineering, University of Toyama, Japam in 2008 under Monbukagakusho Scholarship Program. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher under Venture Business Laboratory, University of Toyoma, Japan from 2008 to 2010. He also worked as a postdoctoral fellow under Signal and Image Communication Laboratory, University of Poitiers, France from 2011 to 2012. He worked as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Dhaka from 2015. Currently he is on deputation and served as a founder Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University, Kishoreganj from January 2021. He has authored or co-authored more than 40 research articles that were published in refereed journals and conference proceedings. His research interests include Image/Video quality, Image/video Compression, Image analysis and segmentation, Motion Estimation, Medical image processing, Stereoscopic or multiview imaging, Multimedia communication and broadcasting.
