Magnetic Hyperthermia | The activation of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) by an alternating magnetic field (AMF) is one of the popular techniques for target-specific therapeutic heating of cancer cells. My primary research goals are directed toward synthesizing magnetic nanoparticles and then coating it with biocompatible material to make the prepared nanoparticles target specific for malignant cells through a promising approach called magnetic hyperthermia. In my thesis work iron oxide (α-Fe2O3) nanoparticles were synthesized through the hydrothermal method and then coated with chitosan for biomedical application. Despite the advantages of hyperthermia as a cancer therapy, much research is still needed to overcome the technical problems associated with this therapy. My future research plans are aimed towards the formulation of new concepts on developing nanoparticles for biomedical applications which will benefit the community, academia, and students. I am also interested in medical imaging such as magnetic resonance imaging, X-ray Imaging, biomedical ultrasound, thin films, solar cells, and renewable energy. My aim is to come out with better understanding of the behavior of magnetic nanoparticles as well as how to develop a better model for cancer treatment which can enable me to act as a hard-working member of a profession to which I truly aspire. |
