On the occasion of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2022, a rally and balloon flying program was jointly organized by the Disaster Research Training and Management Centre (DRTMC) and the Department of Geography and Environment, University of Dhaka in the premises of Kazi Motahar Hossain Building.
The rally started at 12 noon and after the rally Professor Nasreen Rafiq, Chairperson of the department of Geography and Environment, University of Dhaka delivered a speech on the important of the day and various disaster issues, early warning system of disasters. Professor Dr. M. Shahidul Islam, Director of Disaster Research Training and Management Centre (DRTMC) also spoke on the occasion.
Professor Dr. Sirajul Hoque, Former Chairman of Soil, Water & Environment Department, University of Dhaka, Teachers and students of the Department of Geography and Environment were present in the ceremony. The ceremony was concluded with the balloon flying event.
