The Department of Linguistics, University of Dhaka organized, for the first time the ‘Rafiqul Islam - Monjur Morshed - Daniul Huq’ Linguistics Festival MORFH 2024 held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. The festival is named MORFH in memory of the eminent linguists Professor Rafiqul Islam, Professor Abul Kalam Monjur Morshed, and Professor Daniul Huq, and the department hopes to continue this festival on an annual basis. The festival was inaugurated by the Dean of Arts Prof. Dr. Abdul Bashir, and Chaired by the Chairperson of the Department Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ashaduzzaman, with Prof. Dr. Syed Shahrier Rahman as the convener. The Linguistics Festival MORFH 2024 was commemorated with a quiz competition, with IPA and NLP problem solving competition, and poster presentations comprising participation from students of different universities and colleges along with Dhaka university students.
