Chinese Ambassador Mr. Yao Wen Attended the Opening Ceremony of New Semester at Confucius Institute, Dhaka University姚文大使出席达卡大学孔子学院新学期开学典礼活动
On November 14, 2023, His Excellency Mr.Yao Wen, the Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, graced the opening ceremony of the 2023 New Semester and the Award Ceremony for Outstanding Students at the Confucius Institute, University of Dhaka. Welcomed by the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, Dr. Yang Hui, and nearly 100 students and faculties, Ambassador Mr. Yao Wen was accompanied by Cultural Counselor Mr. Yue Liwen and First Secretary Ms.Lang Lang of the Cultural Section of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh.
The event, attended by key figures such as Prof. ABM Razaul Karim Faquire, Director of IML and Bangladeshi Director of Confucius Institute at Dhaka University, Prof. Shamsad Mortuza, Director, Office of the International Affairs and, Dr. Md.Afzal Hossain, Professor from Chinese Language Department, IML, University of Dhaka.
During the event, Ambassador Mr. Yao Wen delivered an impassioned speech expressing his joy at participating in the ceremony. He commended the achievements of the students, highlighting their ability to speak fluent Chinese after just a few months of study. Emphasizing the growing people-to-people exchanges between the two nations, he envisioned the students as future ambassadors fostering friendship between China and Bangladesh.
Professor Razul Karim, Bangladeshi Director of the Confucius Institute, conveyed heartfelt thanks to H.E Ambassador Mr. Yao Wen and his delegation. Drawing from his recent visit to China, he encouraged students to seize the learning opportunities, delve into Chinese language and culture, and contribute to the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and China.
Freshman representative Sifat E Jannat shared her aspirations of further studies in China, expressing her understanding of Chinese language and culture. Outstanding students Mst. Adila Abdari and Tausif Jaman Shaikat, acknowledged the challenges of learning Chinese but credited the engaging teaching methods of the Confucius Institute for their improved proficiency.
Finally, Confucius Institute commended the outstanding students of the previous semester. The guests presented awards to the outstanding students, and Ambassador Mr. Yao Wen presented awards to the students who won the first prize. A total of 32 outstanding students were awarded for their excellent achievements, including 9 first prize winners, 12 second prize winners, 8 third prize winners, and 3 Full attendance award winners.
2023年11月14日，正在达卡大学访问的中国驻孟加拉国大使姚文阁下受邀请出席达卡大学孔子学院2023年新学期开学典礼暨优秀学生表彰大会，孔院中方院长杨惠和孔院师生近百人热烈欢迎大使一行。陪同大使访问的有中国驻孟使馆文化处参赞乐利文先生和中国驻孟使馆文化处一秘郎琅女士，达卡大学现代语言学院院长兼孔子学院孟方院长拉祖尔•卡里姆教授、达卡大学国际事务办公室主任沙姆沙阿德•莫图扎教授和达卡大学现代语言学院中文系主任阿弗扎尔•侯赛因教授也受邀出席了开学典礼和表彰活动。
姚文大使在开学典礼上发表了热情洋溢的致辞。他表示很高兴能参加此次达卡孔院的开学典礼与表彰大会，并对获奖学生经过几个月的学习就能说流利的汉语感到欣慰。大使表示，中孟友好合作关系不仅体现在众多对孟加拉国经济社会发展有重要意义的重大建设项目上，还体现在两国日益紧切的人文交流合作，他相信正是因为大家的共同努力使得中孟关系变得更加紧密。他希望在座的学生能够好好学习中文，成为中孟友好的桥梁和纽带。
达卡孔院孟方院长拉祖尔·卡里姆教授在致辞中对姚文大使一行的莅临表达了衷心的感谢。他回顾了自己上个月前往中国的经历，和同学们分享了自己在中国昆明和北京的切身体验，鼓励学生们要珍惜现在的学习机会，努力学习，深入了解中国语言、文化，为孟加拉国的发展和中孟友谊作出贡献。
新生代表Sifat E Jannat 表达了她对汉语、对中国文化的理解，希望通过学习汉语能够前往中国进一步学习。优秀学生代表Mst. Adila Abdari 和 Tausif Jaman Shaikat都表达了对孔院教师的感谢，认为尽管学习汉语很难，但因为有老师们的帮助，汉语学习变得不单调、不枯燥，也让自己的汉语水平得到极大的提升。他们鼓励新同学好好学习汉语，在新的学期取得较大进步。
最后，孔院对上学期表现优异的学生进行了表彰，到场嘉宾为优秀学生们颁发了获奖证书，姚文大使为获得一等奖的学生颁奖。此次表彰大会共评选出32名优秀学生，一等奖获得者9人，二等奖获得者12人，三等奖获得者8人，全勤奖获得者3人。
