Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka Joins First Anniversary Celebration of Daffodil International University's 'Belt and Road Research Center达卡孔院参加水仙花国际大学“一带一路研究中心”一周年庆祝活动
On November 18, 2023, Daffodil International University hosted a grand celebration in the International Conference Hall to mark the first anniversary of its "Belt and Road Research Center."
The event saw the presence of notable figures, including the former Bangladeshi Ambassador to China, Mr. Mahbub Uz Zaman, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, Mr. Yue Li Wen, Daffodil University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, the former consul General of Bangladesh Consulate General in Kunming Mr. AFM Aminul Islam, Director of the "Belt and Road" Research Center, Professor Masum Iqbal, Dr. Yang Hui, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University, Dr. Ma Xiaoyan, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at North South University, and representatives from the Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Ms. Yu Guang Yue Anandi, Director of the Bengali Department of China Media Group, attended and graced the event online.
In his address, Mr. Zaman, the former Bangladeshi Ambassador to China, praised the remarkable initiative of China's "Belt and Road." He acknowledged its significant impact on improving Bangladesh's infrastructure and fostering socio-economic development. He expressed confidence that the cooperation under the "Belt and Road" framework would benefit both countries and contribute to realizing Bangladesh's vision for 2041, embodying the golden dreams of the Bangladeshi people.
Mr. Yue Li Wen, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, commended the efforts and progress made by the research center in the past year. He emphasized that the "Belt and Road" Research Center would facilitate better understanding of China among the people of Bangladesh. He expressed anticipation for further research outcomes and the continued promotion of academic and cultural exchanges between China and Bangladesh.
Dr. Yang Hui, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University, extended warm congratulations on the first-anniversary celebration of the research center. She highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Confucius Institute and Daffodil International University's "Belt and Road" Research Center in Chinese language education and cultural activities, achieving visible results. She expressed the hope for continued cooperation to build a platform for cultural exchange and enhance Bangladeshi students' understanding of the Chinese language and culture.
The guests then visited the "Belt and Road" Research Center of Daffodil International University, where they cut the celebration cake together to express sincere blessings and best wishes.
During the celebration, Dr. Mohsin, from Daffodil International University, presented the research center's achievements in implementing research projects, organizing cultural activities, and conducting Chinese language teaching over the past year. Certificates were awarded to three outstanding members for their significant contributions to the research center. The event concluded with joint performances by students from the "Belt and Road" Research Center at Daffodil International University, Chinese teachers from the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University, and research graduate students from Yunnan University, showcasing the vibrancy and talent of youth from China and Bangladesh.
Since February 2023, the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University has been offering Chinese language courses at Daffodil International University and has collaborated with the university's "Belt and Road" Research Center to organize cultural events such as the "Happy Chinese New Year" celebration and the Chinese Corner.
2023年11月18日，水仙花国际大学在国际会议厅举行“一带一路”研究中心成立一周年庆祝活动，孟加拉国前驻华大使马赫布·乌兹·扎曼、中国驻孟大使馆文化参赞乐利文、水仙花大学校长穆罕默德·卢夫塔·拉赫曼教授、孟加拉国前驻昆总领事阿米鲁尔·伊斯兰姆、“一带一路”研究中心主任马苏姆·伊克巴教授、达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠、南北大学孔子学院中方院长马晓燕、孟中资企业协会代表等出席了庆祝活动，中央广播电视总台孟加拉语部于广悦主任线上出席活动。
孟加拉国前驻华大使扎曼先生在致辞中称赞中国提出的“一带一路”倡议是一项卓越的举措，大大改善了孟加拉国的基础设施，推动了经济社会发展。他相信“一带一路”的合作对两国都是有益的，将帮助孟加拉国实现“2041愿景”，实现孟加拉国人民心中的金色孟加拉梦想。
中国大使馆文化参赞乐利文先生赞赏该研究中心在过去一年做出的努力和取得的进展。他表示，“一带一路”研究中心将有助于孟加拉国人民更好地了解中国，期待未来该中心能多出研究成果，进一步促进中孟间的学术和人文交流。
达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠对研究中心一周年庆典表示热烈祝贺。她表示，达卡大学孔子学院与水仙花国际大学“一带一路”研究中心在开展中文教学和组织文化活动等方面开展了持续合作，取得了显见的效果。她希望未来双方继续携手，搭建中孟人文交流平台，推动孟青年学生对中国语言文化的了解。
庆典活动上，水仙花国际大学莫辛博士汇报了“一带一路”研究中心过去一年里在实施研究项目、组织文化活动和开展中文教学等方面的工作。活动中，还为中心的三名成员颁发了证书，以表彰他们对研究中心的杰出贡献。
嘉宾们随后参观了水仙花国际大学“一带一路”研究中心，在那里共同切下了庆祝蛋糕，表达真诚的祝福和美好的祝愿。
最后，水仙花国际大学“一带一路”研究中心的同学们和达卡大学孔子学院中方教师以及在孟进行调研的云南大学研究生同台表演，展现中孟青年风采，为庆典活动增添了热闹喜庆的气氛。
达卡大学孔子学院自2023年2月正式在水仙花国际大学开设中文课，并与该校“一带一路”研究中心合作举办了“欢乐春节”联欢会、“中国角”等文化活动。
