Students from CIDU Highlight Importance of Chinese Language Learning at Start-up, Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing in Bangladesh 达卡孔院学生在孟总理出席的活动上宣介中文学习重要性
2026年6月29日，达卡大学中文系、孔子学院学生任筱婷和唐圣心参加了在达卡孟中友谊会议中心举办的“全国初创企业、科学项目及创新理念展示”活动。本次活动由孟加拉国教育部中等及高等教育司主办，孟加拉国总理塔里克·拉赫曼、教育部长ANM·埃赫萨努尔·霍克·米隆博士、教育顾问马赫迪·阿明、首席秘书ABM·阿卜杜斯·萨塔尔以及新闻秘书萨利赫·希布利等嘉宾出席。活动吸引了来自全国各地的千余名初创企业创始人、学生及多家政府和民间机构代表参与。
总理塔里克·拉赫曼在致辞中称学生为未来孟加拉国的“变革者”，指出国家在科学、创新、体育和全球竞争力方面的进步将取决于年轻一代。他表示，现政府希望学生不仅在科学技术领域表现出色，也能在体育、文化、语言和职业技能等方面有所建树。
活动上，任筱婷和唐圣心以中文对话的形式，生动阐述了孟中两国间的密切关系和深厚友谊，以及学习中文的重要意义。塔里克总理对她们的表现表示赞赏，并在随后的讲话中重点介绍了政府加强语言教育的计划。他鼓励公众，尤其是年轻一代，在学好孟加拉语和英语的同时，积极学习中文等第三语言。他强调掌握更多国际语言将为深造、职业发展和国际交流创造新机遇。
据悉，6月25日，孟加拉国总理塔里克·拉赫曼在对中国进行正式访问期间，与中国国务院总理李强共同见证了《中华人民共和国教育部和孟加拉人民共和国教育部关于开展中文教育合作的协议》的签署。根据协议，中方将配合支持孟方将中文纳入其国民教育体系，围绕在试点学校开展中文教学、培养培训本土中文教师、发展“中文+专业/职业”教育、共同编写中文教材、实施中文水平考试等领域开展合作。
近年来，孟加拉国青少年学习中文的热情持续高涨。达卡大学孔子学院将继续致力于推动孟加拉国中文教育高质量发展，为促进两国人文交流与民心相通贡献力量。
On June 29, 2026, Tasmia Rahman and Amina Tun Tiyaba, students from the Department of Chinese Language and Culture and the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, participated in the “Start-up, Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing” held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka. The event was organised by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, Education Adviser Mahdi Amin, Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar and Press Secretary Saleh Shibly were present, among others. The programme was attended by more than one thousand startup entrepreneurs, students and representatives from various government and private organisations.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman described students as the “gamechangers” for future Bangladesh, saying the country's progress in science, innovation, sports and global competitiveness will depend on the younger generation. He said the current government wants students to excel not only in science and technology but also in sports, culture, languages and vocational skills.
At the event, Tasmia Rahman and Amina Tun Tiyaba, in the form of a Chinese-language dialogue, vividly elaborated on the close relations and profound friendship between Bangladesh and China, as well as the significant importance of learning Chinese. Prime Minister Tariq Rahman expressed his appreciation for their performance and, in his subsequent speech, highlighted the plans to strengthen language education, saying students should be encouraged to learn a third language such as Chinese alongside Bangla and English. Knowledge of additional international languages, he said, will create new opportunities for higher education, employment and international engagement.
According to reports, on 25 June, during his official visit to the People's Republic of China, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of Bangladesh and Premier Li Qiang of the State Council of China jointly witnessed the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in Chinese Language Education between the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. In accordance with the agreement, the Chinese side will render support to assist Bangladesh in integrating the Chinese language into its national education system. Collaborative efforts will be undertaken in several key areas, including the offering of Chinese language programmes in pilot schools, the training and professional development of local Chinese-language teachers, the promotion of "Chinese + vocational/professional" education, the co-developing Chinese language textbooks, and the administration of the Chinese Language Proficiency Test (HSK).
In recent years, Bangladeshi young people have shown steadily increasing interest in learning Chinese. The Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka will continue to dedicate itself to fostering the high-quality development of Chinese language education in Bangladesh, thereby making meaningful contributions to strengthening cultural and people-to-people exchanges and fostering closer mutual understanding between the two nations.
