Name:  The name of the alumni association of the Department of Management, University of Dhaka is “The Management Alumni, University of Dhaka”

Motto- “Management for Excellence and Growth”

Nature of the Organization: The Management Alumni, University of Dhaka is a non-profit and non-political association of the alumni that works and functions for alumni development and social welfare.

Area of Operation: Registered office of the association will be situated at the Department of Management, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. For performing activities of the association, administrative and operational activities, branch offices may be situated in home and abroad depending on necessity and relevance.

In 1921, the first university in East Bengal was established by the demands of Nawab Sir Khwaja Salimullah Bahadur, on Viceroy Lord Hardinge proposition. 

The University of Dhaka would then become the cornerstone for Bangladesh’s growth and prosperity and even lead to the country’s independence.

The Faculty of Business Studies was introduced in 1970 with the vision provide professional management skills to drive business and non-business organizations. It plays an important role in educating and providing relevant experiences to the students who are in quest for globally competitive knowledge and skills to cope with the emerging challenges in the world of business.

The journey would start with the Department of Management under the Faculty of Commerce. The department of Management succeeded and went through major shifts in the past 50 years. B. Com and M. Com degrees changed to BBA and MBA respectively and many students graduated to become leaders and business tycoons around the world.
