An academic exchange meeting among Dhaka University (DU) and different Chinese universities was held today April 19, 2025 at VC’s meeting room of the university. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha & Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed of DU and Mr. Zhao Derong, Deputy Director-general of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Mr. Duan Xingwu, Vice President of Yunnan University, Ms. Li Yao, Deputy Director of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Ms. Shen Yun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation of Yunnan University, Mr.Xia Xueshan, President of Kunming Medical University, Ms. Lan Yan, Director of the International Exchange Center of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Mr. Pan Xuejun, Vice President of Kunming University of Science and Technology, Mr. Jiang Fulou, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Yunnan Normal University, Mr. Wang Qiliang, President of Yunnan Minzu University, Ms. Yu Jie, Vice President of Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine, Mr. Zhao Rujie, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Honghe University, Mr. Tian Yang, Vice President of Pu'er University, Mr. Pu Pingao, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Yunnan Vocational College of Transport, Mr. Zi Qingfeng, Vice President of Yunnan Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology and Ms. Shen Yuqiong, Vice President of Yunnan Vocational College of Finance and Economics attended the meeting on behalf of their respective university.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs on medicine, health care, climate, environment and air pollution among Dhaka University and different universities in China. The possibilities of undertaking more joint collaborative academic and research programs among these universities were also discussed in the meeting.

They stressed the need for exchange of cultural team, teachers, students and researchers among Dhaka University and Chinese universities for promoting research as well as strengthening friendly relationship between Bangladesh and China. They also emphasized on establishing Chinese Language Centre at Dhaka University and Bangla Language Centre at Chinese universities. Arranging of training programs under the joint auspices of Dhaka University and Chinese universities were also discussed in the meeting.

It may be mentioned that a high-level delegation from the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and affiliated universities and medical institutions is on a visit to Dhaka University to attend Yunnan Education and Health Exhibition. This exhibition will be held on April 20, 2025 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University.
