Dr. Shahin Khan joined as a lecturer at the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, University of Dhaka in July 2004. He completed his Bachelor and Masters degree in Social Welfare at the Institute of Social Welfare & Research, University of Dhaka. Prof. Khan pursued his advanced Masters degree in Globalisation and Development from the Institute of Development Policy and Management, University of Antwerp under Belgian government scholarship in 2010. He has been awarded Ph. D degree in 2013. Currently, Dr. Shahin Khan is serving as a Professor at the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, University of Dhaka. He has got about 40 research papers published in renowned peer reviewed journals. His areas of concentrations are poverty and livelihoods, disaster management, social administration, crime and the like.

Prof. Shahin Khan is working as a Provost at Kabi Jasimuddin Hall, University of Dhaka. As a Provost he is responsible to see all kinds of administrative and academic affairs of the students at hall. Professor Khan participated in many national and international seminars and workshops dealing with education and social issues. Dr. Khan is involved with many voluntary and social organizations.
