Nushrat Ara, currently a Lecturer, Department of English Language, Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka. She holds a BA (Honours) in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and a Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the Department of English Language, Institute of Modern Languages (IML), University of Dhaka.
As the Joint Secretary of the TESOL Society of Bangladesh, she actively contributes to the professional development of the national and international ELT researchers and practitioners. Her academic contributions include a published article on English for employability and a paper presented at the IATEFL Teachers’ Research Conference (2023). She has also conducted workshops on 21st-century pedagogy for school teachers and served as a teacher trainer in multiple professional development programs.
Beyond training, Nushrat has led and coordinated international projects in collaboration with PRELIM, Hornby Trust, and IATEFL. Her research interests span technology in education, pedagogical research, teaching methodologies, curriculum and material development, and sociolinguistics.
