The International Centre for Ocean Governance, in collaboration with the Department of Oceanography at the University of Dhaka, orchestrated a workshop on Ocean Modelling entitled "Coastal and Regional Ocean COmmunity Model 2023." The workshop took place on the 18th and 19th of October, 2023.
This initiative, a collaboration between the ICOG and the Department of Oceanography, University of Dhaka, aimed to not only impart knowledge on oceanographic modeling but also to foster a deep sense of interdisciplinary cooperation.
Spanning two intensive days, the workshop combined rigorous theoretical sessions with interactive hands-on exercises, guiding participants through the complexities of the CROCO model. Dr. Tonia Astrid Capuano, the principal facilitator, masterfully navigated the curriculum, ensuring participants garnered both foundational knowledge and practical insights.
But the workshop was more than just technical training. It emerged as a platform for academic synergy. Esteemed chairpersons, Dr. Fatima Akter, Professor Dr. Subrota Kumar Saha, and Professor Dr. M. Shahidul Islam, provided enlightening discourses on the intersection of their disciplines with oceanography, emphasizing the power of collaboration in uncovering new academic horizons.
The culmination of the workshop was marked by a certificate distribution ceremony, symbolizing the participants' diligence and newfound expertise. Yet, the essence of the event was truly captured in the camaraderie it fostered among diverse academic domains. Dr. Md. Jobaer Alam‘s vote of thanks resonated with gratitude and the spirit of continued academic collaboration.
