The 5th IML Japanese Language Speech Contest held at the Institute of Modern Languages (IML), University of Dhaka today. In two categories, Beginner and General, total 24 participants from all over the country participated in this contest. The contest has been organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh and the Japan Foundation New Delhi.
Participants delivered their speech on various topics in Japanese language. Md Hasan Proshongsha, Afullah Howlader and Suzzada Tabassum Nurhaliza have secured First, Second and Third position respectively in the Beginner Category. And Md Sabbir Hossain, Sumaya Akhtar Sumi and Sadia Tanjin Priya have secured First, Second and Third position respectively in the General Category. Ms. TAKEMOTO Kyoko, Japanese Language Expert of the Japan Foundation New Delhi, Mr. YAMAMOTO Kyohei, Deputy Head of Public Relations and Culture section, Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh and Mr. IKEYAMA Kohshiro of Japanese School Dhaka were the Judge of the event. Mr. Yuji ANDO, Chief Representative of JETRO Dhaka was present as Chief Guest. The program has been presided over by Prof. Mohammed Absar Kamal, Director (Acting) of the IML, University of Dhaka. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ansarul Alam was the Convener of the program.
Chief guest, officials from the Embassy and Japan Foundation appreciated IML Speech Contest and expected that the event will be held on regular basis. Finally, certificates, crests, gifts have been distributed among winners and participants.
