It is a great honor that Department of Meteorology has been the host for the International Coordination Office (ICO) of the Progressing EW4All Oriented to Partnerships and Local Engagement (PEOPLE) under the World Weather Research Programme (WWRP) of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) approved by the university of Dhaka.
The PEOPLE ICO will play a pivotal role in supporting different initiative at all levels, working in close collaboration with the PEOPLE Co-chairs, the WWRP Scientific Steering Group liaison, and the WWRP Secretariat in Geneva. ICO will be supervised by Dr. Fatima Akter, Chairperson & Associate Professor as the steering committee member of PEOPLE. Hosting the ICO at the Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka would be a prestigious opportunity, providing numerous benefits to the institution while furthering global efforts in disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
