Chinese Director of CIUD Delivers Lecture at Islamic University, Discussing Resumption of Chinese‑language Teaching Cooperation 达卡孔院中方院长赴伊斯兰大学开展专题讲座，共商重启中文教学合作
2026年9 月 5 日，达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠应邀前往孟加拉国西南部库什蒂亚区的伊斯兰大学，开展题为《中国教育体系与中孟教育合作》专题讲座，强调中文教育作为孟加拉国第三语言的重要性与发展建议，并与校方深入磋商重启校内中文课程相关事宜。
本次专题活动在伊斯兰大学 Bir Shrestho Hamidur Rahman 礼堂举办。伊斯兰大学校长 AKM Motinur Rahman 教授、副校长、财务官、注册官等校领导出席活动，校内师生到场参与交流研讨。伊斯兰大学曾是达卡大学孔子学院教学点，中文教学项目受新冠疫情影响暂停，本次访问为复课推进重要一步。
杨惠博士做主旨报告，系统介绍中国教育体系，分享中国教育发展实践经验，特别是中国高等教育发展成就和挑战。她结合中孟教育部签署的中文教育合作协议，重点介绍中文在孟加国的发展现状，阐述孟加拉国中文教育发展机遇，提出除语言教学之外，双方可拓展职业教育、数字教育、文化双向交流，落地适配本地劳动力市场的 “中文 +” 复合型课程，同时强调培育本土中文教师队伍，是孟加拉国中文教育可持续发展的关键。
达卡大学孔子学院本土教师艾喆（ Akib Irfan）结合自身在中国留学的亲身经历做了分享。
伊斯兰大学校长对孔院一行到访表示感谢。他指出，语言承载文化，在全球化背景下中文的经贸、科技价值日益凸显，重启中文课程将成为学校国际化办学的重要里程碑，期待依托孔子学院平台持续深化中孟校际学术与人文往来。
会谈环节，杨惠同伊斯兰大学校方重点磋商重启中文教学实施方案。校方表示计划依托拟建的现代语言学院将中文列为优先发展的第三语言。双方初步达成合作意向：伊斯兰大学提供教室、办公场地等硬件保障；达卡大学孔子学院输出教学师资、课程资源。此次会谈不只局限于语言教学方面的合作，还探讨了更为广泛的学术与教育合作的机遇与可能性。
本次活动是达卡大学孔子学院面向孟加拉国西南部高校拓展中文教育网络的重要实践。未来孔院将持续联动各地高校，落实中孟教育合作共识，推进中文教学落地，夯实两国民心相通的人文基础。
On 5 September 2026, Dr. Yang Hui, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka (CIDU), was invited to Islamic University in Kushtia, south‑western Bangladesh. She gave a special lecture titled China’s Education System and China‑Bangladesh Educational Cooperation, highlighting the importance of Chinese language education as third language in Bangladesh and putting forward relevant development proposals. She also held in‑depth discussions with university authorities on resuming Chinese‑language courses on campus.
The event took place at the Bir Shrestho Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of Islamic University. Attendees included Vice‑Chancellor Professor Dr AKM Motinur Rahman, Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor, Treasurer, Acting Registrar and other senior university officials, alongside faculty members and students. Islamic University used to be a teaching site of the CIDU. Its Chinese‑language programme was suspended due to the COVID‑19 pandemic, and this visit marks a major step towards its resumption.
In her keynote speech, Dr. Yang Hui systematically outlined China’s education system and shared practical experience of China’s educational development, with a focus on achievements and challenges within China’s higher education sector. Referring to the Chinese‑language education cooperation agreement signed by the education ministries of China and Bangladesh, she gave an update on the status of Chinese‑language education in Bangladesh and analysed opportunities for its further growth. She proposed that cooperation should extend beyond language instruction to cover vocational education, digital education and two‑way cultural exchanges, and that practical “Chinese‑plus” programmes tailored to Bangladesh’s labour market should be introduced. She emphasized that cultivating local qualified Chinese‑language teachers holds the key to the long‑term sustainability of Chinese‑language education across Bangladesh.
Mr. Akib Irfan, local lecturer of the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka, shared his personal experience of studying in China.
The Vice‑Chancellor of Islamic University expressed gratitude for the Confucius Institute delegation’s visit. He noted that language carries culture, and that Chinese is gaining growing economic, trade and technological significance amid globalization. Resuming Chinese‑language courses will serve as a key milestone in the university’s internationalization drive. He looked forward to further deepening academic and people‑to‑people exchanges between the two sides through the Confucius Institute platform.
During the meeting, Dr. Yang Hui and Islamic University officials focused on practical plans for restarting Chinese‑language teaching. The university intends to priorities Chinese as its third language under the proposed Modern Language Institute. A preliminary agreement was reached: Islamic University will provide hardware support including classrooms and office space, while the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka will supply teaching staff and curriculum resources. Discussions went beyond language teaching, exploring opportunities and possibilities for broader academic and educational collaboration.
This event represents an important initiative of the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka to expand Chinese‑language education networks among higher‑education institutions in south‑western Bangladesh. Moving forward, the Confucius Institute will continue to partner with universities nationwide to implement China‑Bangladesh educational consensus, promote Chinese‑language programmes, and consolidate the people‑to‑people foundation for bilateral friendship.
