Dr. Yearul Kabir

After nearly 18 months of Covid-forced closure, Dhaka University authorities resumed physical classes on October 2021. Thus, after a long time of challenging online activities, we have started in-person classes. We, in the department, have taken all the necessary precautions and preparations to welcome back students after a one-and-a-half-year shutdown. A hand-washing place is also built at the entrance of the department to ensure contact hygiene. Faculties, students, and staff are also told to maintain recommended health measures that include abiding by health guidelines, wearing masks, and maintaining social distance.

Moreover, the department has taken steps to conduct the final exams of both graduate and undergraduate levels on a priority basis. We have conducted the final written exams of Master students and 4th-year students and continue to take final exams of 1st year, 2nd year, and 3rd-year batch. I thank all our faculty members and current students for their effortless cooperation in continuing the final exams in the online system using zoom and google platforms. Moreover, we have started our practical classes, and you will be happy to know that current MS students are doing their thesis research work in their respective thesis labs and are likely to submit their thesis in March 2022. Many of our teachers have received Centennial Research Grant (CRG), and we are happy that our faculty members are continuing their research and publications despite the pandemic.
