Mission
The Department of World Religions and Culture seeks to play a leading role in research and innovation in the field of academic study of religion; and to promote peace and harmony through interfaith education and relevantization of religious knowledge to contemporary issues. The emphasis is placed on the objective study of religions for mitigating religious misunderstanding and fostering social stability and national unity. The Department creates, analyses, interprets, applies, and disseminates knowledge about religions from theological, historical, philosophical, sociological, psychological and cultural perspectives with a view to assisting students to: acknowledge religious and cultural diversity; inspire a value-driven life; and dedicate themselves to career in teaching, learning, research and development.
Vision
The mission of the department is to create an academic atmosphere conducive to the objective study of religions for the attainment of critical religious knowledge, soft skills, and positive attitudes so that students can be enlightened and become better citizens of the country.
