Established in 1979 under the visionary leadership of the late Professor Dr. Anwarul Azim Chowdhury, our department has been steadfast in its mission to provide top-tier education and pioneering research in the field of Microbiology.
Our journey began with a modest MS program, catering to a small group of dedicated students. A decade later, in 1989, we proudly launched our Bachelor program, marking a significant milestone in our growth. Today, we offer a comprehensive suite of programs, including a four-year Bachelor of Science (BS), a one-year Master of Science (MS), as well as M. Phil and Ph.D. degrees.
The Department of Microbiology is renowned for its commitment to excellence in education and research.
