About Department of Urdu

The Department of Urdu (Previous name Persian & Urdu) was established on 1st July 1921. It became a separate department on 10 March 2007. This Department offers four years B.A (Hon’s), one year M.A Program along with two years M.Phil & Ph.D program. Professor W.H.A. Shadani of this department was elected as a Dean for four times. At present nine full time and six part time faculty members are teaching in the department. Among the full time faculty members there are four Professors, two Associate Professors, two Assistant Professors & one Lecturer.
