My excellence in the BSc (Hons.) examination as First class 1st position influenced me to pursue the dream of becoming an academician. Therefore I started my MS thesis in the Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Botany, University of Dhaka from 2011-2011 and there I grew research interest. This then led me to acquire another Master's in research with a Commonwealth Scholarship in 2012-2013 from Imperial College London, United Kingdom. After arrival, I started working as a research associate at the Lentil Improvement Project supported by USDA, Plant Breeding and Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Botany, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh from November 2013 to March 2015. I was appointed as a lecturer in March 2015 and served till July 2018. During my lecturership, I got interested in plant development, anatomy, and physiology focusing on abiotic stress responses and determined to achieve my PhD degree in understanding the mechanisms that regulate plant development in response to environmental signals. I completed my PhD research on “The role of phytohormones and light signaling in the guard cell CO2 response” in 2023 from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom with a Bangabandhu Overseas Scholarship. My areas of research interest are molecular biology, plant physiology, plant anatomy, plant biochemistry, developmental biology, and stress biology. More specifically, I want to involve myself in any research that will aid in secure food production and sustainable environmental development.
