Kazi Hanium Maria has been serving as a professor of Physics at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh over 12 years. She is dedicated to her work in the laboratory and enthusiastic about further expanding her scientific skills. Her research interests include ceramic magnetic materials, glassy (amorphous) magnetic materials, CNT production, nanostructured/ nanocomposite materials, nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, development of TMDs materials based gas sensors and their applications. She excelled in the technical aspects of her lab work such as synthesis and use of instrumentation. She obtained M.S and B.Sc degree from the Department of Physics, University of Dhaka. She obtained several fellowships such as JSPS Hope fellow (2017), ISRF fellow (2019), TWAS Post doctoral research fellow (2021), UNESCO female researcher fellow (2022) and got research grants several times from Ministry of Science and Technology of Bangladesh. She received the ‘Rowshan Innas Ali Research Award-2014’ for her outstanding research work.

She got her PhD in 2015 from Shizuoka University, Japan on optoelectronic and nanostructured sciences. In her PhD work, she made a patent for the development of a new synthesis technique for the efficient production of Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes. She has successfully accomplished few research projects and published 35 articles in national and international journal. She has presented her research in numerous local and international conferences in India, Japan, Malaysia and UK. She was a visiting faculty at Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India from September, 2019 to March, 2020. Currently She is residing in Argentina as UNESCO female researcher fellow and working as visiting scientist at INTEC (Institute for the Technological Development of the Chemical Industry), a research institute that depends on UNL (National University of Litoral) and CONICET (National Scientific and Technical Research Council), Argentina.

Thin film deposition, exfoliation and gas sensor	Thin Film synthesis, thin film exfoliation to prepare 2D nano-sheets for gas sensing application.
CNT production and development of CNT/biocomposite	Synthesis of Single walled nanotube, modified the production method to get efficient production, functionalize the nanotube structure to disperse it in water, application of nanotube as nanocomposite, where CNT are used as additive with the bio-friendly and bio-compatible material such as cellulose, starch, banana fibers.
FINEMET Alloys	Study of the magnetic, structural and electrical properties of amorphous and nanocrystalline Fe and Co based alloy ribbons with the addition of Si, B, Nb, Cr, Cu, prepared by melt-spinning technique. This work was based on the experimental investigation of nanocrystal formation from Finemet type of amorphous ribbons subjected to controlled thermal treatment and evolution of unique soft magnetic properties.
Nano and advanced materials	I have been interested in the research and development of various functional materials which include ceramic magnetic materials, glassy (amorphous) magnetic materials, nanostructured/ nanocomposite materials, nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, development of metallic alloys/ intermetallic and their heat treatment and beneficiation of various minerals. A brief description of my research areas are as follows: Processing / synthesis, structural characterization and study of magnetic, dielectric and electrical properties of ceramic magnets (MFe2O4; M = Ni, Co, Mg, Cu, Cd, Zn, Li) and (MFe12O19; M=Ba, Sr) with the addition, substitution and doping of various elements like rare earth and/or transition/alkaline metal oxides.
