Abdullah Rafique-um-Munir Chowdhury was raised in Dhaka. He studied English at the University of Dhaka and Modern Languages at the University of Westminster, London before completing an M.A. in Comparative Literature at SOAS, University of London and a second M.A. in Translation Studies from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelons. He teaches Spanish and Translation Studies. His areas of research interests are Iberian Languages, Literature and Culture and Translation. Apart from teaching he translates literary texts from Spanish and English into Bangla. So far, eleven of his translated works (including two edited anthology) have been published. He was born in Chittagong and studied in Comilla Cadet College. His wife, Nazmun Zaman, is also a Dhaka graduate. They have two lovely children: Zahra and Zahian.
