Dr. A.S.M. Monjur-Al-Hossain completed his B. Pharm (Hons.) in 2010 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka and M. Pharm (Thesis) in 2011 from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Dhaka. He started his academic career by joining as a Lecturer at Pharmacy Discipline, Khulna University (KU) in 2011. Later he joined at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Dhaka in 2015 and currently working there as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Hossain had been awarded Commonwealth Scholarship in 2016 to pursue PhD at University College London (UCL). He completed PhD from UCL skin research group in 2020 and re-joined at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Dhaka. He has published more than 30 articles in different peer reviewed international and national journals. He has been invited to attend AAPS conference (USA), Gordon Research Conference (USA), Skin Forum Conference (Estonia), Skin Forum Conference (France) and UCL research day to present his research work. At national and international conferences Dr. Hossain has developed his network of professional contacts and is regarded as an emerging expert in the delivery of active in the skin. He also acted as Session co-chair at Skin and Formulation 5th symposium held at Reims, Paris in 2019 and BCSIR Congress 2023 held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain has extensive academic teaching and research experience at DU and KU. He also had been employed as a teaching staff at University College London with responsibility of supervision of M.Pharm and MSc project. Dr. Hossain's current research interests are in the development of a topical formulation for the effective delivery of active with reference to skin. He has expertise with a range of biophysical techniques to modulate skin penetration. He has the experience to work in applied spectroscopy specifically Confocal Raman Spectroscopy. He is also working to enhance the solubility of different lower soluble drugs using solid dispersion technology.
