মহান রাষ্ট্রভাষা আন্দোলন ও আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের উদ্যোগে ৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০২৬ (মঙ্গলবার) সকাল ৯.৩০ মিনিটে কলা অনুষদের আর সি মজুমদার আর্টস অডিটরিয়ামে “বিশ শতকের ভাষা-গবেষণা ও প্রাগ্রসর ভাষাভাবনা : রফিকুল ইসলাম, আবুল কালাম মনজুর মোরশেদ, মহাম্মদ দানীউল হক” শীর্ষক জাতীয় সেমিনার ২০২৬ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। সেমিনারে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (প্রশাসন) অধ্যাপক ড. সায়মা হক বিদিশা , বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কলা অনুষদের মাননীয় ডিন অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ ছিদ্দিকুর রহমান খান এবং আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা ইনস্টিটিউটের পরিচালক অধ্যাপক ড. মুহাম্মদ আসাদুজ্জামান উপস্থিত ছিলেন । সেমিনারে সভাপতিত্ব করেন ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের চেয়ারপার্সন ড. মনিরা বেগম । উদ্বোধনী পর্বে স্বাগত বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন সেমিনার কমিটির আহ্বায়ক অধ্যাপক ড. সৈয়দ শাহরিয়ার রহমান । সেমিনারের স্মরণ পর্বে বিশ শতকের প্রথিতযশা তিনজন ভাষাবিজ্ঞানী রফিকুল ইসলাম, আবুল কালাম মনজুর মোরশেদ, মহাম্মদ দানীউল হক-এর অবদান নিয়ে ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. ফিরোজা ইয়াসমীন, অধ্যাপক ড. সালমা নাসরীন এবং অধ্যাপক ড. সিকদার মনোয়ার মুর্শেদ আলোচনা করেন ।

সেমিনারের প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন পর্বে অধিবেশন সভাপতি হিসেবে ছিলেন চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আধুনিক ভাষা ইনস্টিটিউটের অধ্যাপক ড. ফারজানা ইয়াসমীন চৌধুরী এবং মুখ্য প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. সাখাওয়াৎ আনসারী । এছাড়া প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. তারিক মনজুর, জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক মামুন অর রশীদ, এবং ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের সহকারী অধ্যাপক ড. মাশরুর ইমতিয়াজ। ভাষা আন্দোলনের চেতনা, বিশ শতকের ভাষা-গবেষণা এবং প্রাগ্রসর ভাষাভাবনার ঐতিহাসিক ও তাত্ত্বিক ধারাকে পুনর্মূল্যায়নের লক্ষ্যে আয়োজিত এই জাতীয় সেমিনারে শিক্ষাবিদ, গবেষক, ও আগ্রহী শিক্ষার্থী সকলের উপস্থিতি আয়োজনকে প্রাণবন্ত করে তোলে এবং অ্যাকাডেমিক আলোচনা ও প্রশ্নোত্তর পর্বে সবাই সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করেন । (On the occasion of the historic Language Movement and International Mother Language Day, the Department of Linguistics, University of Dhaka, organised the National Seminar 2026, titled “Language Research and Progressive Linguistic Thought in the Twentieth Century: Rafiqul Islam, Abul Kalam Monjur Morshed, and Muhammad Daniul Huq”, on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the R. C. Majumdar Arts Auditorium.The seminar was honoured by the presence of Professor Dr Saima Haque Bidisha, Honorable Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration), University of Dhaka, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Dhaka, and Professor Dr Muhammad Asaduzzaman, Director of the International Mother Language Institute, attended the programme as Special Guests. The seminar was chaired by Dr Monira Begam, Chairperson of the Department of Linguistics.

In the opening session, the welcome address was delivered by Professor Dr Syed Shahrier Rahman, Convener of the Seminar Committee. In the memorial session, Professor Dr Firoza Yasmin, Professor Dr Salma Nasrin, and Professor Dr Sikdar Monoare Murshed of the Department of Linguistics reflected on the contributions of three eminent twentieth-century linguists of Bangladesh : Rafiqul Islam, Abul Kalam Monjur Morshed, and Muhammad Daniul Huq.The paper presentation session was chaired by Professor Dr Farzana Yasmin Chowdhury of the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Chittagong. The keynote paper was presented by Professor Dr Sakhawat Ansari of the Department of Linguistics, University of Dhaka. Papers were also presented by Professor Dr Tariq Manjur of the Department of Bangla, University of Dhaka; Associate Professor Mamun ur Rashid of the Department of Bangla, Jahangirnagar University and Dr Mashrur Imtiaz, Assistant Professor, Department of Linguistics, University of Dhaka. The seminar, organised with the aim of reassessing the historical and theoretical trajectories of the Language Movement, twentieth-century linguistic research, and progressive linguistic thought, was attended by academics, researchers, and enthusiastic students. Their active participation in the discussions and question-and-answer sessions contributed to a lively and intellectually engaging academic atmosphere.)
