My Current Research Interest - Climate Change | Climate change has been a big issue at present days, which is a big threat for the survival of the mankind of earth. My research interest is to reduce the effect of the climate change on agriculture, as climate change is affecting the food production for the growing population. I am currently conducting research on development of biofertilisers and salt-tolerant rice varieties, in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Zeba Islam Seraj, to utilise the southern saline water - submerged lands for growing rice. In this way, we can ensure both the usage of those lands and produce enough rice to feed the blooming population. I have acquired knowledge on carbohydrate biochemistry during my Ph.D., which I am applying currently to study the land race of rice growing in saline water to study their cell wall defense mechanism against salinity stress. |
