Lt. Col. Md Manowar Hossain Bir Bikram (Rtd) was a student of M.Sc. (1970 batch) of Geology department, University of Dhaka.

During the liberation war Lt. Col. Md Manowar Hossain Bir Bikram (Rtd) fought several successful battles as a company commander of Sector-2. He led an operation named ‘Battle of Batakandi’ where the freedom fighters successfully defeated the Pakistani Army in 1971.
