Md. Abdul Muktadir (Msc 1962)
Liberation War Martyr
On 25 March, 1971 Pakistani army executed ‘Operation Searchlight’ and cordoned Dhaka University. On that black night senior lecturer of Geology Department, Md. Abdul Muktadir (student of M.Sc. 1962) was assassinated in his house at teachers’ quarter.
As a tribute to Md. Abdul Muktadir who inspired the students of the department prior to the liberation war, a geological museum at the department has been named after him ‘Shaheed Muktadir Geological Museum’.
