Nasrin Sultana is a Professor of Health Economics at the Institute of Health Economics (IHE), University of Dhaka, with over 22 years of experience in teaching and research in Economics and Health Economics. Currently she serves as the Provost of Shamsunnahar Hall at the University of Dhaka. She has led extensive research on a wide range of topics including maternal, neonatal, and child health, reproductive health, urban health, and gender inequity. Her work also covers the estimation of healthcare costs, healthcare financing, and Public Expenditure Review (PER). Professor Sultana has been involved in various studies, including assessments of local-level planning, fiscal space for the Health, Nutrition, and Population sector, and the development of health insurance schemes for different groups such as garment workers and public servants. Additionally, she has worked on micro health insurance initiatives for healthcare delivery, family planning expenditure assessments, and the health and productivity of SME workers. Furthermore, she has extensive research experience in working with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Local Government, local NGOs and Development Partners since 2000.
