Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Mr. Yao Wen called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today March 1, 2023 at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by some other officials of Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
During the meeting they discussed about establishment of a research-based center titled ‘The Center for China Studies’ at Dhaka University to conduct multi-disciplinary researches. Chinese Ambassador handed over a concept paper for establishment of this center to the Vice-Chancellor.
They also exchanged views regarding various issues including the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs being conducted by the University of Dhaka and different universities in China.
The Vice-Chancellor said, an excellent friendly relationship has been prevailing between Bangladesh and China for a long time. Terming China as one of the largest development partners of Bangladesh the Vice-Chancellor said, China has contributed a lot to develop socio-economic condition of our country. These friendly ties between the two countries will be further strengthened in the days to come, he hoped.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the Chinese envoy for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
