The Korean alphabet day was celebrated on Tuesday at the auditorium of the institute of modern languages (IML) of Dhaka University (DU). Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present as chief guest on this occasion. Department of Korean Language of DU IML organized this program.
Director of DU Institute of Modern Languages Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Razaul Karim Faquire presided over the program while Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Ms Young Ah Doh, Third Secretary of Korean Embassy Ms Sun-nam In, teachers and students of Korean Language Department of IML were present on this occasion, a press release said. Du Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the organizer to celebrate this ‘korean Alphabet Day’ in Dhaka University. He said, a friendly relation has been prevailing between Bangladesh and South Korea for a long time.
South Korea has been providing help and cooperation to various sectors including Education, trade and cultural fields in Bangladesh. DU VC urged the students to be equipped with Korean language to further strengthen friendly ties between the two countries.
In observance of the day ‘korean language speech’ and ‘korean language hand writing’ competitions were arranged for the students of Korean Language Department of DU IML.
