On February 25, 2025, third-year Applied Statistics students visited Gazipur Agricultural University as part of their AST301: Design and Analysis of Experiments II course. The trip provided insights into the practical applications of experimental design in agriculture, including how controlled experiments address challenges in crop production, pest management, and sustainable farming.
Students observed the integration of modern technologies such as GIS-based precision data collection, drone imaging, and digital monitoring tools that enhance agricultural research. The visit highlighted the vital role of statistics in data-driven decision-making and interdisciplinary research.
The students were led by their course teacher, Lecturer Md. Rasel Biswas, along with Professor Lutfor Rahman, Professor Jahida Gulshan, and Lecturer Mahnaz Ibrahim. This enriching experience deepened students’ understanding of experimental design and its real-world impact. ISRT extends its gratitude to Gazipur Agricultural
University for hosting this valuable learning opportunity.
