"The Department of Management, University of Dhaka Launches Orientation Program for 14th Batch of MPHRM Students"
The Department of Management, University of Dhaka, successfully organized an orientation program for the 14th batch of Master of Professional Human Resource Management (MPHRM) students. The event was held on 25th July 2025 at 10:00 am in the Dr. Abdullah Faruque Multipurpose Hall of the Faculty of Business Studies.
The program was graced by distinguished guests, Mr. Md. Rokonuzzaman, Managing Director of AMANN Bangladesh, who was the Chief Guest. In his speech, the Chief Guest shared his inspiring life story, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, dedication, and integrity in building a successful career. He narrated how he overcame various challenges, worked tirelessly, and seized opportunities that ultimately helped him reach a prominent position in the corporate world. “Success does not come overnight,” the Chief Guest stated. “It requires consistent effort, faith in oneself, and a willingness to learn from failures. My journey has been filled with lessons that I hope will motivate the new students to pursue their goals with passion and determination.” He urged the students to stay focused, embrace continuous learning, and uphold ethical standards in their professional lives. His story served as a powerful reminder that determination and hard work are essential ingredients for success.
Mr. Atiq uz Zaman Khan, Chief Human Resources Officer at Meghna Group of Industries, attended as a Guest of Honor. He highlighted the vital role of human resource management in the industry, emphasizing that HR professionals are the backbone of any organization. "HR is not just about hiring and firing; it’s about creating a positive workplace culture, motivating employees, and aligning human resources with strategic goals," he said. “The HR profession is crucial for industry growth and development, especially in a competitive business environment.”
The department was also honored by the presence of Professor Md. Ali Akkas, Department of Management, University of Dhaka.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Management, University of Dhaka, who presided over the ceremony, and Professor Dr. Faruq Ahmed, Coordinator of the MPHRM Program, delivered the closing speech and highlighted the program’s objectives and vision for future growth.
The event was marked by a warm welcome to new students and a discussion on the department’s academic and professional offerings.
