Kazi Mohammad Mahbobor Rahman worked as a SUSI visiting scholar at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst), USA, in June 2023. The program was sponsored by the US Department of State and included seventeen visiting scholars representing 17 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Most participants held significant academic records and publications, and were professors, associate professors, or assistant professors in their home country. During their visit, they worked with renowned US professors to gain an understanding of the American political process and thought, covering various topics such as the US colonial experience, Congress, political parties, the judicial system, the legal system, and the US media. This program also gave them an opportunity to compare the US system with seventeen political systems worldwide. Kazi Mohammad Mahbobor Rahman visited many significant political and historical places in Massachusetts, New York, Virginia, and Washington, including the University of Massachusetts, Harvard University, Emily Dickinson Museum, John F. Kennedy Museum, Clark Art Institute, Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, Polar Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World, United Nations Headquarters, the 9/11 Memorial Museum, the Thomas Jefferson Center, Library, House and Graveyard in Virginia, US Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Washington Monument, and National Mall. It was indeed a great opportunity for Kazi Mohammad Mahbobor Rahman to understand the US political system and the contributions of the US political scientists.
