The Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED), University of Louvain, Belgium, in collaboration with NIRAPAD and the Department of Meteorology at the University of Dhaka, is launching a pilot project to develop retrospective local disaster loss databases in Bangladesh. This initiative, aiming for an international publication with EM-DAT, involves training and data input using Kobo tools. After successful training data input is already done. A lesson learned workshop, hosted by Dr. Fatima Akter, will capture lessons learned in data collection, processing, and entry for the subnational retrospective disaster impact database (2000–2023). Honorable Dean of the Faculty Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Zillur Rahman has gave his consent to present in the event. Distinguished speakers, including Mr. Kazi Shahidur Rahman Mr. Kazi Shahidur Rahman, Humanitarian Affairs Specialist, UNRCO and Ms. Hasina Akter Mita, Program Manager, NIRAPAD, will contribute, and all faculties of the Department of Meteorological and student from different universities who are the contributors to the database are invited to attend.
