On 2nd July 2025, The Department of Meteorology at the University of Dhaka organized the 5th  batch Freshman Reception ceremony of the 2024-2025 session. Surely, it was an exciting event for all the new students joining the department!

The event was presided over by the esteemed Chair, Dr. Fatima Akter, Chairperson, Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka. Additionally, the event was honored by the esteemed presence of the Honorable Dean, Professor Dr. Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Dhaka, who attended as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by the faculty members, including Dr. Md. Rabiul Awal, Assistant Professor; Md. Momin Islam, Assistant Professor; Aishia Fyruz Aishi, Lecturer; Shabista Yildiz, Lecturer; and Pronab Das, Lecturer, along with departmental staff, parents, and newly admitted students.

For many freshmen, the reception is more than just an introduction; it’s a moment that marks the beginning of their University journey.
