On 10 July 2025, As part of the ongoing initiative “Advocacy for Women, Empowering Survivors – Unite for Change with HELP” a special outreach program was successfully held at the Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka.
The event aimed to raise awareness about gender-based harassment in public transport and urban spaces, while also promoting the use of the HELP app as a safety and support tool for women.
The session brought together students, faculty members, and campaign representatives in an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on the challenges faced by women in public spaces. It also emphasized how collective action and the use of technological tools like the HELP app could contribute to building safer and more inclusive environments.
Distinguished guests at the event included Dr. Fatema Akhtar, Chairperson of the Department of Meteorology; Antara Biswas, Executive, Broadcast Journalist Center (BJC); Monira Ferdous, Joint Executive, BJC; Aadnan Chowdhury, Program Officer of HELP & Coordinator, BJC; and A B M Mahmudul Hasan, Social Media Campaigner, HELP.
The event formed part of a broader campaign led by the Broadcast Journalist Center, Bangladesh and Switch Bangladesh Foundation, in collaboration with Youth Planet, and supported by the European Union, ARTICLE 19 South Asia, and Free Press Unlimited.
Through interactive advocacy sessions like this, the HELP campaign has continued its mission to educate, empower, and amplify women’s voices—while equipping them with the necessary tools to report incidents and access timely support.
