达卡大学孔子学院“国际中文日·汉字听写大赛”圆满结束 Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka successfully held the "Chinese Character Dictation Competition"
On April 12, 2023, the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka successfully held the "Chinese Character Dictation Competition" to celebrate International Chinese Language Day. The competition had three different levels: Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced, with a total of 32 contestants participated the competition. The atmosphere was lively and enthusiastic, and after intense competition, the first, second, and third place winners at each level, as well as the "Beautiful Chinese Character Writer" awards, were finally determined.
Ms. Chi Yuxue, a Chinese language teacher from the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka, hosted the competition, and the Chinese Director of CI at DU, Dr. Yang Hui, Chinese language teacher Ms. Wang Huan, and Ms. Zhao Jiangyan served as the judges of the competition. There were 11 contestants attended in the elementary competition, Each contestant was required to dictate 8 vocabularies (about 16 words) in sequence within a specified time, with each vocabulary timed for 40 seconds. The contestants demonstrated excellent dictation and solid Chinese character skills.
After one round of competition, the winner could not be determined, so they had to carry out a second round of dictation. However, even after completing two rounds of the competition, winners could not be decided. Finally, the Elementary Level competition was concluded by increasing the number of prizes and the contestants won the applause of the crowd. The Intermediate and Advanced Level Competitions followed a knockout system, with 13 and 8 contestants participated respectively. The contestants had to write each vocabulary within 40 seconds, and those who made mistakes or failed to write their words were eliminated until the top three positions were determined.
Following the intense competition, the top three contestants from each level and the "beautiful Chinese character writers" were finally selected. Among them, Mr. Jahidul Islam from the CIH1 class was awarded first place in the Elementary Level Competition. The first place in the Intermediate Level Competition was awarded to Mr. Shakil Hossain from the CIH2 class. Finally, the first place in the Advanced Level Competition was awarded to Miss Fateha Bhuyain from the Department of Chinese Language & Culture at the University of Dhaka.
After the competition, the students expressed their sincere gratitude to the Confucius Institute at DU for organizing such event. Many contestants stated that they developed a deeper love for Chinese characters after participating in the Chinese character dictation competition. They also expressed their determination to continue studying hard and strive for better results in learning Chinese.
This Chinese character dictation competition is one of the series of activities held by the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka to celebrate "International Chinese Language Day". This event not only enriched the cultural activities but also enhanced the enthusiasm of the contestants for learning Chinese characters. The Confucius Institute at DU will continue to provide students with more opportunities to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture. By doing so, it aims to make significant contributions to China-Bangladesh cultural exchanges.
2023年4月12日，为迎接“国际中文日”，达卡大学孔子学院成功举办“汉字英雄会·汉字听写大赛”。比赛分为初、中、高三个级别，共有32名选手参加比赛，现场气氛热烈，经过激烈的角逐，最终决出各级别第一、二、三名以及 “美丽汉字书写者”等奖项。
达卡孔院中方教师迟玉雪主持比赛活动，中方院长杨惠和王欢老师、赵江燕老师担任评委。初级比赛有11名选手参加，选手需在规定时间内依次听写出8个词，每词计时40秒。选手们展现出了出色的听写能力和扎实的汉字功底，一轮比赛过后，未能决出优胜者，不得不进行第二轮听写，哪知仍未能分出胜负，最终在众人的掌声和喝彩声中以增加获奖名额的方式结束了初级组的比赛。中级和高级比赛采取淘汰制，分别有13名和8名选手参加，选手需要在40秒内写出词语，写错或未写出词语的选手离场，直至角逐出前三名。
经过激烈角逐，最终评选出了每个级别的前三名和“美丽汉字书写者”。其中，初级组的第一名是HSK一级班的张德，中级组的第一名是HSK二级班的胡思敏，高级组的第一名是来自达卡大学中文系的古雅文。
比赛结束后，同学们对孔院组织的这次活动表达了真诚感谢。不少选手表示，通过参加汉字听写比赛，他们更加热爱汉字了。他们还表示会继续努力学习，争取在汉语学习方面取得更好成绩。
此次汉字听写比赛是达卡大学孔子学院为庆祝“国际中文日”举办的系列活动之一，不仅丰富了达卡孔院的文化活动，同时也增强了选手们对汉字的认知和学习热情。达卡孔院将继续为学生提供更多学习汉语和了解中国文化的机会，为中孟文化交流做出更多的贡献。
