On August 30, 2024, in a remarkable show of love and solidarity, the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh embarked on a major relief mission heading towards the flood-affected areas in the Lakshmipur, Noakhali and Feni districts. The team delivered 4,000 family aid packs, valued at 68 lacs taka, to vulnerable villages in Kamlnagar, Sonaimuri, Senbag, Fulgazi, and Sadar thana.
This initiative was spearheaded by the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh, which successfully raised donation funds from overseas Chinese citizens residing in the country. More than 20 Chinese volunteers participated in the flood relief program, ensuring the distribution of the aid packs. Dr. Yang Hui, Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka also participated the relief program as a volunteer.
The volunteer team left Dhaka in early morning at 5:00am on August 30 and despite challenging road conditions, the entire operation was completed by 3:00am the following day.
This humanitarian effort highlights the Overseas Chinese Association's commitment to supporting the communities in which they live and work, extending a hand of friendship and assistance during times of crisis. The initiative has been widely appreciated by local authorities and residents, who expressed their gratitude for the timely aid.

此次洪涝灾害发生以来,孟加拉国华侨华人联合会立即牵头组织募捐,在华侨华人纷纷奉献爱心的支持下,成功筹集了600多万塔卡的善款,并用其购买了4000份爱心救援物资。8月30日,由20多名在孟华人组成的志愿者团队于凌晨5点离开达卡奔赴受灾严重的村庄,确保了救援物资的分发,整个行动于次日凌晨3点才全部完成。达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠也作为志愿者参加了此次救援物资分发行动。
