四川大学南亚研究所学者代表团访问达卡大学A delegation of scholars from the Institute of South Asian Studies of Sichuan University visited Dhaka University
On July 23, 2023, Professor Qiu Yonghui, chief expert and Vice Director of the China Center for South Asian Studies of Sichuan University; Professor Song Zhihui, Executive Director of the Institute of South Asian Studies; Associate Professor Xiao Jianmei; Associate Professor Mohammad Maruf Hasan; and PhD Candidate Zeng Hao visited the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, the Department of International Relations and the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies of Dhaka University.
At the Confucius Institute of DU, the delegation exchanged views with the Director Dr. Yang Hui and representatives of teachers and students. Professor Qiu Yonghui introduced the development history, research characteristics and key areas of South Asian studies of Sichuan University, and expressed her desire to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Bangladeshi universities and research institutions to promote the study of Bangladesh at Sichuan University. Dr. Yang Hui introduced the development of the Confucius Institute to the delegation, especially the program of China Studies Center at Dhaka University, and said that the Confucius Institute will actively play the role of a bridge between China and Bangladesh in education and academic exchanges, and promote the communication and cooperation between universities and research institutions of the two countries.
The delegation also visited the Department of International Relations and the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Dhaka, where they exchanged views with Prof. Lailufar Yasmin, Chairperson of the Department of International Relations, Dr. Saber Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, and some of the faculty members. The two sides sincerely expressed their desire to strengthen exchanges and establish cooperation, and initially discussed the cooperation intention of jointly developing undergraduate textbooks for China-Bangladesh relations.
Recently, delegations from all walks of life of the two sides have been exchanging more and more visits, and China-Bangladesh people-to-people exchanges have shown vigor and vitality. It is hoped that with the in-depth development of people-to-people exchanges, more fruitful cooperation results will be produced.
2023年7月23日，四川大学中国南亚研究中心首席专家、副主任邱永辉教授、南亚研究所执行所长宋志辉教授、中国南亚研究中心肖健美副研究员、孟籍副研究员海山和博士生曾浩一行人访问达卡大学，并在达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠的陪同下，访问达卡大学国际关系系以及和平冲突研究系，并举行座谈交流。
在达卡大学孔子学院，代表团一行考察了孔院教学和办公环境，并与中方院长和师生代表进行交流。邱永辉教授介绍了四川大学南亚研究的发展历程、研究特色和重点领域，并表达了此次赴孟调研交流希望加强与孟高校和研究机构的交流合作以推动川大孟加拉研究的愿望。杨惠院长向代表团一行介绍了孔院的发展情况，特别是孔院参与工作的达卡大学中国研究中心建设项目，并表示孔院将积极发挥中孟教育和学术交流的桥梁作用，推动两国高校和研究机构加强沟通交流与合作，为建设中国高水平的孟加拉研究智库和孟加拉国中国研究智库做出贡献。
代表团随后访问了达卡大学国际关系系与和平冲突研究系，与国际关系系主任Lailufar Yasmin教授、和平冲突研究系主任Saber Ahmed Chowdhury博士以及部分科研人员进行了交流。双方真诚表达了加强交流和建立合作的愿望，并初步探讨了共同开发中孟关系本科生教材的合作意向。
近期，中孟双方各界代表团互访活动不断增加，中孟人文交流呈现蓬勃生机，希望随着双方人文交流的深入发展，能结出更多丰硕的合作成果。
