On September 17, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh hosted an Embassy Open Day event. Mr. Yan Hualong, Charge d' Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, and Mr. Yue Liwen, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, along with the French International School, Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, Confucius Institute at North South University, and Shanto Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom, were in attendance. More than 100 students & teachers were present at the event.
In his welcoming speech, Acting Charge d' Affaires Mr. Yan Hualong emphasized China's profound cultural heritage spanning over 5,000 years and its remarkable achievements in modernization. He expressed China's dedication to global peace and friendship, and he hoped that the guests and children present would have the opportunity to learn more about China.
Mr. Karim, the principal of the French International School, expressed his gratitude to the embassy for its thoughtful arrangements. He said that the "Open Day" event opened a window for children to experience Chinese culture first-hand, which was truly exciting.
Teachers from the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, Confucius Institute at North-South University, and the Shanto Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom led the attendees in exploring the culture and customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The event featured cultural corners showcasing Chinese calligraphy, traditional painting, and clay art, where children immersed themselves and enjoyed every moment.
During the event, Mr. Aga Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury, lecturer from Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, introduced the origin, legends, customs and implications of the Mid-Autumn Festival. He skillfully combined ancient myths and legends that have been passed down through the ages with the remarkable achievements of China’s modern lunar exploration. The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from students, creating a lively atmosphere and deepening their understanding of the Mid-Autumn Festival culture.
During the martial arts performance session, Mr. Rao Jiahao, a teacher from Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, performed the Tai Chi fan. In just a few minutes, the fan gracefully danced, showcasing both the soft and powerful aspects of Chinese martial arts, earning rounds of applause. Mr. Rao also provided on-the-spot teaching, and the children were eager to try it out. Despite its simplicity, their enthusiasm for Chinese martial arts was evident.
In the cultural corner, Zhe Menglin, another teacher from Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, taught calligraphy to children. Each brush and piece of rice paper aroused the curiosity of the students. After watching, they eagerly picked up the brush to write, and even though they might not understand the Chinese characters, still followed the teacher curiously, they experienced the joy of calligraphy.
The Embassy's meticulous arrangements made for an unforgettable morning for the students and teachers of the French International School. Guests praised the event for its innovative format and rich content, considering it an excellent opportunity to enhance friendship and engage in friendly exchanges. They hoped that the children would carry their enthusiasm and curiosity to experience more of Chinese culture.
2023年9月17日,中国驻孟加拉国使馆举办使馆开放日活动,严华龙临时代办、乐利文文化参赞、法国国际学校、达卡大学孔子学院、南北大学孔子学院、山度玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂师生100余人出席。
严华龙临时代办在欢迎辞中表示,中国有着五千年的悠久文明,中华文化博大精深。如今,中国的现代化取得令人瞩目的伟大成就,处处生机勃勃。中国人民致力于世界和平与友好,希望各位来宾和孩子们有机会多学习中文,了解中国。
法国国际学校校长卡里姆对使馆的周到安排表达感谢,他表示,“开放日”活动给孩子们打开了一扇窗,让孩子们得以亲身体验中国文化,令人兴奋。
达卡大学孔子学院、南北大学孔子学院、山度玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂的老师们带领大家了解了中秋节的文化和习俗,活动现场还布置了中国书法、国画、超轻黏土手工等文化角,参加的儿童沉浸其中、流连忘返,不时传出欢声笑语。
活动中,达卡孔院教师于浩文向大家介绍了中秋节的起源、传说、习俗和寓意,他还把流传千古的神话传说与现代探月工程的伟大成就相结合。互动环节学生们积极抢答,气氛热烈,对中秋节文化也有了更深的了解。
武术表演环节,达卡孔院教师饶嘉豪表演了太极扇。在短短几分钟的表演中,扇子轻舞,动作行云流水,舒展自如,展现出中国武术的柔和与刚猛,赢得大家的阵阵掌声。饶老师还进行了现场教学,小朋友们都跃跃欲试,虽然只是几个简单的动作,他们却学得有模有样,看得出他们对中国武术的热情。
文化角中,达卡孔院教师者孟林教小朋友写书法,一支支毛笔、一张张宣纸引起了学生们的好奇,观望之后便纷纷拿起毛笔进行书写。即使不了解汉字,但他们却有模有样地跟着老师写出一个个不算规整的汉字,体验写书法的乐趣。
使馆的精心安排让法国国际学校的师生度过了一个难忘的上午,来宾纷纷表示,此次活动形式新颖、内容丰富,是增进双方友谊、进行友好交流的良好机会。希望小朋友们带着这份热情与好奇体验更多的中国文化。
