Confucius Institute at DU as One of the Co-organizers Participated in the Inauguration of the Belt and Road Art and Photography Exhibition达卡孔院师生参与“一带一路”中孟友谊绘画摄影展揭幕仪式

On November 27, 2023, organized by the Embassy of China in Bangladesh and the Association of Bangladesh-China Alumni (ABCA), and co-organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, three Confucius Institutes (Classroom), Bangla Department of China Media Group (CMG) and Bangladesh-China Friendship Center, an Art and Photography Exhibition was inaugurated at the National Art Gallery, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initative.

Mr.Yao Wen, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Munshi Faiz Ahmad, former Bangladeshi Ambassador to China and Chairman of ABCA, Mr. Liaquat Ali Lucky, Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Prof. Nisar Hosain, Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, and Dr.Yang Hui, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka attended the event and delivered speeches. More 30 teachers and students of Confucius Institute at DU participated in this program.

Ambassador Yao Wen said in his speech that since the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward, practical and friendly cooperation between China and Bangladesh has been rapidly deepened, China's circle of friends in Bangladesh has been expanding, and a number of young friendship envoys between China and Bangladesh have emerged. Ambassador Yao Wen said that although the young people participating in the exhibition are not professional photographers or painters, they have captured the essence of each other's country and customs, presenting a picture of practical cooperation between the Chinese and Bangladeshi people and creating a better tomorrow. The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh will hold more cultural activities to promote friendly exchanges between young people of the two countries and train them to become backbone of China-Bangladesh friendship.

Dr.Yang Hui, Chinese director of the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, said in her speech that over the past ten years, the Belt and Road Initiative has been an extraordinary journey of collaboration, connectivity, and shared aspirations. It has become a testament to the power of win-win cooperation and mutual understanding in fostering economic development, cultural exchange, and lasting friendships among nations. The paintings and photographic works on display not only record tangible infrastructure projects, but also people's lives, as well as the story of China-Bangladesh friendship, which is the creators' understanding of the cooperation spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Bangladesh friendship. The Confucius Institute is pleased to be one of the co-organizers of this exhibition and will continue to make efforts to promote people-to-people exchanges between China and Bangladesh.

Ambassador Yao Wen and the guests also cut the ribbon for the Arts and Photography Exhibition and enjoyed the works with the audience. It is reported that the Exhibition will last from November 27 to December 2, 2023.

2023年11月27日，由中国驻孟加拉国大使馆和孟留华校友会主办，孟加拉国国家艺术院、孔子学院、中央广播电视总台孟语部和孟中友谊中心等多家单位协办的“一带一路”中孟友谊绘画摄影展活动在国家艺术院美术馆隆重揭幕。中国驻孟加拉国姚文大使、孟前驻华大使、孟留华校友会会长孟什（Munshi Faiz Ahmad）、孟加拉国国家艺术院院长阿里（Liaquat Ali Lucky）、达卡大学美术学院院长里萨（Nisar Hosain）等嘉宾出席活动并致辞。达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠率孔院教师和学生共30人参加了活动，并作为三所在孟孔子学院（课堂）的代表致辞。

姚文大使在致辞中称，“一带一路”倡议提出以来，中孟务实合作迅速深化，中国在孟朋友圈不断扩大，涌现出一批年轻的中孟友谊使者。姚文大使表示，参与本次展览的青少年虽然还不是专业摄影师或画家，但他们捕捉到了彼此国家风土人情中的精髓，呈现了一幅幅中孟人民务实合作、共创美好明天的图景。中国驻孟使馆将举办更多文化活动，以促进两国青少年友好往来，培养他们成为中孟友谊的传承人。

达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠在致辞中表示，“一带一路”倡议提出的十年是一段不平凡的历程，凝聚了合作、联通和共同发展的愿景，也证明了合作共赢和相互理解在促进各国经济发展、文化交流和持久友谊方面的力量。此次展出的绘画和摄影作品不仅记录了有形的基础设施项目，还记录了人们的生活，以及中孟友好的故事，是创作者对 “一带一路”合作精神和中孟友谊的理解。孔子学院很高兴成为本次展览的协办单位之一，也将继续为推动中孟人文交流和民心相通而努力。
