2024 China Scholarship Promotion Event held at University of Dhaka2024中国奖学金宣介会在达卡大学举办
On December 4, 2023, the "2024 China Scholarship Promotion" Event organized by the Embassy of People's Republic of China in Bangladesh and Association of Bangladesh China Alumni (ABCA), Co-organized by the Confucius Institute and Office of the International Affairs, DU was held at the RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium at University of Dhaka.
Deputy Chief of Mission & Minister Counselor Mr. Yan Hualong, Embassy of People's Republic of China in Bangladesh ,along with embassy personnel, members of the Association of Bangladesh China Alumni, nearly 200 students and faculties from Confucius Institute, University of Dhaka and other institutions attended in the scholarship promotion event.
In his speech, Minister Counselor Mr. Yan Hualong reviewed the gratifying achievements in the comprehensive economic and social development of Bangladesh in recent years as China-Bangladesh relations have continued to deepen and economic and trade cooperation has become increasingly close. He said that youth exchanges between China and Bangladesh are crucial to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting the long-term development of bilateral relations. He hoped that the students will work hard to learn Chinese and Chinese culture, realize their life ideals by studying in China, and contribute the China-Bangladesh friendship.
The scholarship promotion event was moderated by Professor Dr. Shamsad Mortuza, Director of the International Affairs Office of Dhaka University. Mr. Sun Kangning, Attache of the Cultural Section of the Chinese Embassy, introduced the application process of Chinese Government Scholarships in 2024. Dr. Yang Hui, Director of the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, introduced the International Chinese Language Teachers. They also made a brief introduction on provincial government scholarships and University-level scholarships.
Professor Dr.Md. Rakibul Hoque, Dr. Fahmida Mostafiz from Business Faculty and Mr.Aga Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury, Lecturer from Confucius Institute of Dhaka University, who were former recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship and the Confucius Institute Scholarship to study in China for their higher education, and Mr.Tohid, a Bangladeshi employee of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, spoke about their motivations for studying in China and how their experiences influenced them. The event also showcased the life of Bangladeshi students in China through videos, and a graduate student from Yunnan University Ms. Lulian who is currently doing her field research in Bangladesh presented her insights about the campus life of Yunnan University.
The session concluded with an interactive exchange where students expressed their aspirations to study in China, seeking advice and clarification on scholarship applications process. Their enthusiasm and dreams of pursuing education in China were evident, and it is hoped that they will achieve their aspirations for studying in China.
2023年12月4日，由中国驻孟加拉国大使馆和孟中校友会主办、达卡大学孔子学院承办、达卡大学国际事务处协办的“2024中国奖学金宣介会”在达卡大学举办。驻孟加拉国使馆严华龙公使衔参赞出席奖学金宣介会，使馆人员、孟中校友会成员、达卡孔院以及达卡大学师生近200人参加了奖学金宣介活动。
严华龙公参在致辞中回顾了近年来随着中孟关系不断深化、经贸合作日益紧密所带来的孟加拉国经济社会全面发展的可喜成就。他表示，中孟青年交流对于增进双方了解和推动两国关系长远发展至关重要，他希望同学们努力学习中文和中国文化，通过赴华留学实现人生理想，成为中孟友好的使者。
奖学金宣介会由达卡大学国际事务处处长Shamsad Mortuza教授主持。使馆文化处专员孙康宁介绍了2024年中国政府奖学金申请的相关事项，达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠对国际中文教师奖学金进行了推介说明，他们还就省政府奖学金和校级奖学金作了简单介绍。
曾获中国政府奖学金和孔子学院奖学金赴华留学的达卡大学Md. Rakibul Hoque教授、Fahmida Mostafiz博士，获得孔子学院奖学金赴华留学的达卡大学孔子学院本土教师于浩文、使馆孟方雇员Tohid等四名校友会代表分享了他们在中国学习生活的感受、求学经历中的感人故事、以及为什么选择到中国留学等等，他们的故事感染和鼓励了在场的同学们。
宣介会上还通过视频向大家展示了留学生在华学习、工作和生活的情形。此外，正在孟加拉国进行国别调研的云南大学研究生鲁莲还为大学介绍了云南大学的校园学习生活。
最后，同学们就奖学金申请的种种困惑和问题与嘉宾进行了互动交流。他们纷纷表达了对中国的向往，希望到中国继续深造学习，成就美好的未来。祝愿他们都能实现留学中国的梦想！
