A delegation of Confucius Institutes from Dhaka visited Sylhet for academic exchanges孟孔院代表团赴锡莱特调研交流
On January 21, 2024, Dr.Yang Hui, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University, Prof. Zhang Xi, Chinese Director of the Shanto Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom, and two Chinese teachers of the Confucius Institute, accompanied by Prof. Md. Shahabul Haque, Department of Political Studies, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Visited SUST and Sofir Uddin High School and College in Sylhet, northeast Bangladesh, to know about the situation of Chinese language education in the region, and to strengthen education and cultural exchanges and cooperation.
During the visit at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, the delegation met with Dr. M.d. Kabir Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, and the two sides reached consensus on strengthening exchanges and cooperation to promote the development of Chinese education in the university. Subsequently, the delegation visited the Institute of Modern Languages and had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Alamgir Toimoor, Director of IML, to understand the current situation and challenges of Chinese language education at the university, and to explore the possibility and ways of strengthening cooperation in the future. In the Department of Political Studies, the delegation had discussions with Prof. Dr. Syed Ashrafur Rahman, Head of the Department, and faculty members of the department, exchanging views on strengthening cooperation in academic exchanges, joint research, personnel visits and the construction of Chinese Corner of the department.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited Sofir Uddin High School and College and was warmly welcomed by the teachers and students of the school. The delegation held discussions with Mr. Md. Sujat Ali Rafique, the Chairman of the school governing body, Mr. Md Roshid Ahmad, the principal of the school, and other faculties. The two sides exchanged views on the provision of Chinese language teaching at the school. Meanwhile, delegation visited the Huawei Smart Classroom donated by the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, and attended the meeting with teachers and students of the school. The students showed their interests in learning Chinese language and culture.
2024年1月21日，达卡大学孔子学院中方院长杨惠、山度·玛利亚姆-红河孔子课堂中方院长张曦和孔院教师代表在沙贾拉尔（Shahjalal）科技大学政治研究系沙哈布尔·哈克（Md. Shahabul Haque）教授的陪同下，访问孟东北部锡莱特地区的沙贾拉尔科技大学和索菲尔乌丁中学，就该地区中文教育情况进行调研，并就开展教育文化交流合作进行交流。
在沙贾拉尔科技大学，孔院代表团拜访了该校副校长卡比尔·候赛因（Md. Kabir Hossain）博士，双方就加强交流合作，推动中文教育在该校的发展达成了共识。随后，代表团前往现代语言学院，与现代语言学院院长穆罕默德·阿拉姆吉尔·托伊穆尔（Muhammad Alamgir Toimoor）教授进行交流，了解中文教育在该校发展的现状和困境，探讨未来加强合作的可能性和方式。在政治研究系，代表团与该系主任赛义德·阿什拉夫·拉赫曼（Syed Ashrafur Rahman）教授和该系教职人员进行座谈，就孔子学院协助该系加强“中国角”建设、开展学术交流、联合研究、人员互访等问题交换了意见。
当天下午，代表团还访问了索菲尔乌丁中学，受到该校师生的热烈欢迎。不久前受中国驻孟使馆邀请前往达卡进行交流的学生们还自发准备了精美可口的点心迎接代表团。代表团与索菲尔乌丁中学的校董事机构主席苏嘉·阿里·拉菲克（Md. Sujat Ali Rafique）、校长罗希德·艾哈迈德（Md Roshid Ahmad）和该校教职人员举行座谈，双方就达卡大学孔子学院和山度·玛利亚姆-红河孔子课堂联合为该校提供中文教育服务一事进行了沟通。随后，代表团观摩了驻孟使馆捐赠的智慧教室的教学活动，出席校方组织的师生见面会，与全校师生进行交流互动，学生们还表演了新学的中文歌曲，现场气氛热烈，双方都期待中文课程能尽快落地该校，学生们也表达了希望通过学习汉语进一步了解中国的愿望。
