MoU Signed Between MoDMR and University of Dhaka Units to Strengthen Disaster Management Collaboration
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR) and two academic units of the University of Dhaka— the Department of Disaster Science and Climate Resilience (DSCR) and the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies (IDMVS).
The MoU is aimed at enhancing collaboration between academia and government in the field of disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Through this partnership, opportunities will be created for students and researchers to engage in hands-on work with government agencies, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in disaster management.
The signing ceremony was graced by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Secretary, MoDMR, and B.M Rabby Hossain, Chairman, DSCR. Their efforts in initiating this collaboration have been widely appreciated.
This partnership is expected to contribute significantly to national capacity building and foster a culture of evidence-based policymaking in disaster and climate resilience.
